This small park, located next to White Water on US 41 / Cobb Parkway in Marietta, Georgia, is a perfect training ground for enjoying amusement parks. Geared for the younger crowd (up to 8 years old), American Adventures does not have the Looney Tunes theme of SFOG's Bugs Bunny World but many of the rides are the same and the cost is much less. And they have rides that SFOG doesn't have, for example a kiddie coaster - the powered Ridgeline Racer. Other non-SFOG rides at American Adventures include a Tilt-A-Whirl, Galleon (rocking pirate ship), giant slide, Crazy Bus, Scrambler, Train, Flying Animals, and a junior version of bumper cars. Also, minature golf, go-karts and admission to the Foam Factory is included in some admission packages. So if you only have kids less than 48" tall I'd recommend taking a look at this often over-looked park.
And if it's a hot summer day you can combine your visit to American Adventures with White Water, one of the best water parks in the country. Activities include high-speed thrill slides, a wave pool, family slides, body flumes, an activity pool, treehouse island, and two "kiddie" areas. After the tragic experience of 1998, White Water is probably one of the safest water parks in the world.
The official American Adventures web site is located within the Six Flags White Water site.
